The DFG offers specific funding opportunities for cooperation with individual countries and regions. These are usually based on a cooperation agreement between the DFG and a foreign partner organisation. Together with the NSFC, the DFG has been operating the Sino-German Center for Research Promotion (SGC) in Beijing since 2000. The SGC is tasked with promoting scientific cooperation between Germany and China with a focus on the natural sciences, life sciences, engineering sciences and management sciences.
