Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is developing rapidly and is also becoming an important technology for science and research. The DFG is closely monitoring these developments. This page provides information on all areas of DFG activity in which AI plays a role: proposal preparation, the review process and specific funding opportunities related to AI.

AI in Funding

Statement by the DFG Executive Committee

In September 2023, the DFG issued its first statement(Download) on the influence of generative AI models on science and the humanities and on its funding activity. Since December 2025, this statement has no longer been valid with regard to the use of AI in the review process.
