Research Impulses

The DFG funding instrument Research Impulses seeks to enable universities of applied sciences (UAS: Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften – HAW – and Fachhochschule – FH) to advance core areas in research and improve their eligibility. As part of a comprehensive package of measures, the new funding programme supports particularly research-oriented UAS to advance a clearly defined research profile and enhance their competitiveness by concentrating and advancing existing innovative approaches. The first of five rounds of calls during the pilot phase started in 2022.

What’s New

The decision to establish Research Impulses from the first round of calls will be made in early December by the Joint Committee on the recommendation of the Senate. Subsequently, the second round of calls will begin. Deadline for submission of the letter of intent will be 29 January 2024. For more information, please refer to the Interner Linkprogram announcement Research Impulses.
