Equity and diversity are key priorities for the DFG. To this end, the DFG has implemented measures at various levels: 

1. applicable to the German research system,
2. applicable to the DFG's funding activities,
3. applicable to the subject matter of the projects it funds, and
4. applicable to the DFG Head Office.

These measures are set out in the statement “Chancengleichheit in der Wissenschaft, im Förderhandeln und in der Geschäftsstelle der DFG” [Equity and Diversity in Research, in DFG Funding Activities and at the DFG Head Office], and in the DFG’s Gender Equality Plan. They also serve to meet the requirements for participation in the EU funding programme Horizon Europe.
