Major Instrumentation Initiatives

Current Major Instrument Initiatives of the DFG

With this call, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) launched a new Major Instrumentation Initiative that invited proposals for the provision of Clinical Hyperpolarisers for metabolic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at German universities in order to explore the scientific potential of this technology in medical imaging research. Funded projects are expected to start in 2025.

Further information about this call can be found in the Information for Researchers(interner Link).

This DFG initiative pushes the limits of the scientific instrumentation of the Research Aircraft HALO to allow addressing an even wider range of parameters to be observed during the flight missions. The novel instrumentation will provide a substantial and lasting qualitative step forward in the research and measurement possibilities of HALO.
