The DFG’s Research-Oriented Equity and Diversity Standards
The DFG’s Research-Oriented Equity and Diversity Standards define personnel and structural standards for sustainable gender equality and the promotion of diversity in the academic and research landscape. DFG member organisations have committed to uphold these standards on a voluntary basis since 2008.
The current (Download) comprises two reporting cycles. The first reporting cycle 2022-2025 has been completed. On 1 July 2026, the DFG General Assembly adopted (Download) for the second reporting cycle 2026–2028 (in German only). This marks the start of the reporting period. Universities are to submit an integrated report of up to ten pages to the DFG in September 2027.
In the General Assembly 2029, the DFG member organisations will discuss the further development of the Research-Oriented Equity and Diversity Standards.
The Working Group on Research-Oriented Equity and Diversity Standards supports and advises member organisations on implementing these standards. See the following page for details of the (interner Link).
On 1 July 2026, the DFG General Assembly adopted the (Download). These guidelines detail the procedure for electing members of the working group.
