DFG Office India Visits Delhi Technical University

On the invitation of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), supporters of the German House for Research and Innovation (DWIH New Delhi), including the DFG Office India of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation), participated in an interactive session at Delhi Technological University (DTU) on 8 August 2025.

The half-day event was well received by the DTU faculty, young researchers and students. The German delegation, comprising representatives from the DFG, DAAD, RWTH Aachen University, the University of Cologne, the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the Max Planck Society, also held meetings with the director and deans of DTU. They visited several academic departments across the campus. The session aimed to introduce researchers in early career phases and faculty members to the German research landscape, highlighting funding opportunities for Indo-German research collaboration and pathways for pursuing research careers in Germany.

The DFG in India, represented by Dr. Vaibhav Agarwal, Deputy Director of the DFG Office India, and Mrs. Urmila Gupta, answered questions regarding potential collaborations enabled by various DFG funding opportunities and bilateral programmes.
