The DFG Inclusion Officer

What does the DFG Inclusion Officer do?

Inclusion benefits both the DFG and the employees concerned. By means of appropriate organisational measures and individual support, employees with health impairments are given the opportunity to realise their full working potential. The aim is to create inclusive working conditions at the DFG, both at the structural level and in individual cases. The Inclusion Officer’s key responsibilities include supporting the employer in achieving this objective, assisting employees and managers, and mediating conflicts of interest (see Sections 181 and 182 of Book IX of the German Social Code).

What is the status of the Inclusion Officer?

The DFG Inclusion Officer acts under the direction of the employer and is affiliated with Z-PRO division within the employer’s organisational structure. This role differs from that of the Representative for Severely Disabled Persons and the Works Council, which are employee representative bodies and operate independently of management. The DFG Inclusion Officer and the DFG Representative for Severely Disabled Persons work closely together on structural matters and also provide joint support in individual cases where requested by the individual concerned.
