Germany and Russia are linked by a long tradition of intensive scientific exchange and research cooperation. As early as the 17th and 18th centuries, the universal scholars Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz and Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov cultivated close relationships with Russia and Germany respectively.
(28.06.11) On 28 June, the DFG’s Moscow office took part in a conference entitled “Leading Russian universities within the context of European tendencies of high school development”. The event was organised for high-ranking representatives of European universities and scientific organisations by the New Eurasia Foundation, which is based in Moscow.
(29.06.11) The 11th National Research Fair for Young Researchers (NTTM 2011) is being held in the grounds of the All-Russia Exhibition Centre (VVC) in Moscow from 28 June to 2 July. During this time, over 1,000 young researchers from 59 different Russian regions will showcase 750 ideas and projects
(31.08.11) From 29 August - 02 September, the Ulyanovsk region in cooperation with the German embassy in Moscow held the first German-Russian week of science. As part of the 2011/12 joint year of science, representatives of both countries gathered under the motto "partnership of ideas in education, science and innovation" to deepen cooperation with the region.
(26.09.11) As part of the German-Russian Year of Science, Education and Innovation 2011/12, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Research Foundation (DFG) organised the first Young Researcher Week in Russia under the auspices of the German House for Research and Innovation (DWIH).
