(19.01.22) On January 20 from 12.30 pm to 14 pm, the DFG Office Latin America, with the collaboration of DAAD Regional Office Rio de Janeiro, promote the virtual event “German-Latin America Research Cooperation in History of the Art”. The information session will take place in the framework of the 35th CIHA World Congress (MOTION: MIGRATIONS).

The International Art History Committee organises the congress and aims, in this 35th edition, to describe, reflect on, and analyse the different forms of migrations in a concrete, historiographical and theoretical way.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 35th CIHA World Congress (MOTION: MIGRATIONS), had been postponed to 2022 and will take place in a hybrid form and in partnership with the Goethe Institute of São Paulo. With a programme composed of the world’s most renowned researchers on the subject, the congress will also include an information session organised by the DFG Office São Paulo and the DAAD.

The goal of the session is to learn from experts about their experiences with international research cooperation between Germany and Latin America in the field of art history. To this end, Professor Dr. Margit Kern from the University of Hamburg (Germany) and Professor Dr. Joseph Imorde from the Weissensee Kunsthochschule Berlin (Germany) will give insights through short presentations. The DFG and the DAAD will present their funding opportunities for early career researchers and for bilateral research collaboration.

The information session “German-Latin America Research Cooperation in History of the Art” will be held in English. See the schedule.
