From now on, the English-language version of the DFG’s Key Figures Portal is available under “Facts and Figures”. It gives access to the DFG’s most important key indicators. Presenting the data in a modern, responsive design, it is clearly laid out and easy to navigate, offering a high level of detail and covering a broad range of topics. All graphics are available for download, along with the underlying data.

In its first position paper, the Permanent Senate Commission on the Transformation of Agricultural and Food Systems (SKAE) calls for stronger political efforts to promote diversified cropping systems for arable crops. The Commission also emphasises the need for an expansion of research funding to systematically investigate the long-term effects and benefits of such systems.

The European Union is currently setting the course for the next Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (FP10) from 2028 onwards. The DFG welcomes together with the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) and the Leibniz Association the EU Commission’s decision to maintain a standalone programme of research and innovation funding. However, they call to improve this programme in the further legislative process.
