The Committee on Scientific Instrumentation and the Commission on IT Infrastructure advise the Joint Committee on the approval of major instrumentation acquisitions, including IT-systems, and provide the final funding recommendation to the federal states on acquisition requests received from the federal states under the programme "State Financed Instrumentation" (art. 143c GG).
