Information on the “e-Research Technologies” Funding Programme

This programme is aimed at researchers and at institutions that specialise in scientific or academic information such as libraries, archives, computer centres and media centres.

It aims to disseminate virtual research environments in the various research areas. This enables the connection of virtual research environments to individual research topics or disciplines. Envisaged are inter-institutional and university-wide structures which provide researchers with the tools that will effectively meet their requirements to support their collaborative, multi-location research activities. Modular, generic structures should be created that can be used elsewhere. The establishment of databases as well as such research environments relating to an individual research project or highly specialised topic, cannot receive funding. Close collaboration between the participating researchers and information-infrastructure professionals is vital when submitting proposals and implementing projects.
