The addendum was signed at CONACYT’s exhibition booth. Around 30 members of the Mexican research delegation participated in the short ceremony, among them CONACYT’s Scientific Director, Dr. Julia Tagüeña, and the Head of the International Department at CONACYT, Dr. Jesus Arturo Borja. After short introductory speeches from both sides, in which Prof. Cabrero and Prof. Allgöwer highlighted the great importance of the cooperation between the two organisations for German-Mexican research cooperation as well as underlining their common interest in continuing to develop the long-standing partnership, the addendum was signed.

The cooperation between the DFG and CONACYT is based on a trusting collaboration, which has already seen a successful joint project funding phase spanning many years, including the first German-Mexican Research Training Group “Between Spaces. Movements, Actors and Representations of Globalisation”, which is based in Berlin (host university FU Berlin) and Mexico City (host university El Colégio de México) and will come to an end this year after 9 years of funding.
