Pilot phase for cross-format examination of draft proposals

in the Research Unit, Research Training Group and Collaborative Research Centre programmes

As part of a pilot project for the cross-format comparison of draft proposals in the Research Unit, Research Training Group and Collaborative Research Centre programmes, a slightly modified procedure will apply for draft proposals received on or after 1 January 2018, which are primarily assigned to one of the four review boards (FK) or expert forums below:

  • History (FK 102)
  • Physics (FK 307 – 311)
  • Basic Research in Biology and Medicine (FK 201)
  • Production Technology (FK 401)

Due to the extension of the pilot phase, this modified procedure will also apply for draft proposals received on or after 1 January 2020 which are primarily assigned to one of the four review boards below:

  • Neuroscience (FK 206)
  • Mechanical Engineering (FK 402)
  • Materials Engineering (FK 405)
  • Materials Science (FK 406).

All draft proposals that are primarily assigned to these review boards will be evaluated there first following the consultation and a decision will then be made in the Senate Committee. In these cases, both a member of the Senate Committee representing a different subject area and a member of the review board will participate in the consultation.
