A central contact point: The joint

„Research in Germany" at the AGU 2014 and DFG Leibniz Lecture in San Francisco

(23.12.14) From December 15 to December 19, the initiative "Research in Germany" was present again at the lively Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union in successful collaboration with the Clusters of Excellence CliSAP (Hamburg), MARUM (Bremen) and The Future Ocean (Kiel) as well as the coordination office GEOTECHNOLOGIEN and the GFZ (Potsdam). An attractively designed exhibition booth, daily lunch talks, a career café held in this form for the first time and a top-class DFG Leibniz Lecture followed by an evening reception made "Research in Germany" events become central meeting points.


 

III. Quarter 2014

"Research in Germany" at the 47th Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union

(26.09.14) The congress of the AGU taking place in San Francisco in mid-December will attract almost 24,000 participants. For the fourth time, the "Research in Germany" initiative has teamed up with Clusters of Excellence and other outstanding German research institutions in the geosciences to inform about achievements and opportunities of the German research location. In addition to a collaborative booth, there will also be daily Lunch Lectures, a Career Café and a DFG Leibniz Lecture followed by a German Social as special events.

Research in Germany at the 44th Annual Meeting of the Society for Neuroscience

(24.09.14) Washington D.C., November 15-19. The „Research in Germany“ initiative will once again exhibit at the annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience, the largest international conference in neuroscience. However, for the first time the “Research in Germany” initiative will be teaming up with other German exhibitors to create a large joint booth titled “Neuroscience in Germany.”

„Research in Germany“ at the 5th Congress of the European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences (EuCheMS) in Istanbul, Turkey

(22.09.14) For the second time the “Research in Germany”-initiative was present at the 5th “Congress of the European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences” (EuCheMS), which took place from August 31 until September 4. Congress visitors had the opportunity to inform themselves on career chances and funding programmes in Germany – not only at the “Research in Germany”-information booth but also at a “Science Brunch” organized by the DFG on the last day of the conference.

“Research in Germany” at ICM and MENAO in Seoul, Korea

(26.08.14) From August 12 to August 20, 2014 the initiative of the German Ministry of Education and Research presented research and funding programmes from Germany at the international mathematics congress for the first time. A joint booth with other European research and funding organisations, a DFG Leibniz Lecture and a “Germany Day” with mathematicians from notable research institutions in Berlin, Bielefeld, Bonn and Oberwolfach marked the central elements of the performance.

(21.07.14) In August, “Research in Germany” will present the German mathematical research landscape and funding opportunities at the world’s largest meeting of mathematicians – at an information booth with other major European research and funding organizations and with several special events.


 

II. Quarter 2014

Research in Germany – DFG Announces Ideas Competition for International Research Marketing

(30.04.14) The Ideas Competition is intended to support international research marketing activities which are geared towards the needs of science and which will be implemented in 2015. The prizes will be given for actions that will enhance the visibility and attractiveness of German research abroad and attract both highly qualified early career researchers and established researchers, either to participate in collaborative projects with German researchers or to visit Germany for research purposes.
