Research in Germany at the 9th IBRO World Congress on Neuroscience

(24.06.15) The "Research in Germany" initiative will participate at the 9th IBRO World Congress on Neuroscience. For the first time the congress will take place in a Latin American country, at the Sulamérica Convention Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, expecting around 5.000 participants from all over the world.

Prof. Dr. Brigitte Röder, director of Department of Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology at the University Hamburg and winner of the Leibniz Prize 2014, which is awarded annually by the DFG, will participate in one of the congress symposiums and present her research on “Neural correlates of functional recovery in humans with a history of visual deprivation from birth”.

Furthermore, as part of the Research in Germany initiative Prof. Dr. Brigitte Röder and representatives of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) will give an overview of the German research landscape and first-hand information on career and funding opportunities in Germany.

  • July 7th to 10th – “Research in Germany” booth (Nr. 27): representatives of the DAAD and DFG will offer individual consultations about scholarships, fellowships, research stays and collaborative research programs.
  • July 9th, from 10 to 11:30 AM (Meeting Room) – “Research in Germany – Fellowships, Exchange and Collaboration Programs” workshop: representatives of the DAAD and the DFG, as well as Prof. Dr. Brigitte Röder, will inform participants about funding programs and the German research landscape.
