Purpose

Nominations
Nominations may be made by scientists and academics who are capable of assessing the communication skills and professional qualifications of the nominee(s). Other expert assessments, for example by communications specialists, are also possible. For self-nominations, a written recommendation by a second researcher must also be submitted.
Selection of Prizewinners
The award winner is determined by a jury consisting of communications specialists, journalists, PR professionals and selected researchers. The previous award winners who distinguished themselves through the breadth and sustainability of their communication work serve as the benchmark.
Nomination Deadlines
The deadline for submission of proposals is 31 December for the award ceremony of the following year.
Documents Required
The proposal must include meaningful documents (work samples) about the communication effort to allow the jury to come to a decision. The scope should be limited to a maximum of 50 pages that give a representative sample-chosen by the nominees themselves-of the overall achievement (no bibliography). The proposal must be fully substantiated. Scientific work and communication efforts must be clearly separated. Proposals based on only a single project are not possible. As far as possible, we ask for documents to be submitted in digital form. When sending in audio or video tapes, please only submit one tape and only if the nominee is the author. Please attach a curriculum vitae to the documents.
