Modules and Programme Elements

Funding for staff, instrumentation and direct project costs are applied for directly by the individual projects. Each Collaborative Research Centre also has a central administrative project, in which the centre’s central funds (used for visiting professors, travelling, administrative costs, etc.) are pooled.

Furthermore, additional funding for the following programme modules and elements can be provided within the framework of Collaborative Research Centres and CRC/Transregios:

Integrated Research Training Group

For measures relating to the structured training of doctoral researchers.

Information Infrastructure Projects

For projects relating to the systematic and sustainable management of research data collected as well as to the testing or development of virtual forms of scientific communication.

Transfer Projects

For projects designed to test the results of basic research under practice conditions or to translate them into prototypical applications. These projects generally involve collaboration with external partners.

Emmy Noether Independent Junior Research Group

For postdoctoral researchers wishing to integrate their Emmy Noether independent junior research group into a Collaborative Research Centre.

Equal Opportunities

For measures to improve scientific career prospects, particularly for women, with the long-term aim of achieving gender equality.

Public Relations

For measures to communicate research results to the general public.

International Cooperation

For projects involving cooperation with international partners abroad.
