Integrated Emmy Noether Independent Junior Research Groups within the Collaborative Research Centres Programme
The Emmy Noether Programme gives postdoctoral researchers the opportunity to gain the qualifications required for a university teaching career by leading their own independent junior research group for a DFG-funded period (usually lasting five years), thus paving the way to early scientific independence.
Either during the initial proposal to establish an Emmy Noether independent junior research group or during the funding period, the group may be integrated into a Collaborative Research Centre. If the head of the independent junior research group is in favour of this integration, a letter of support outlining the thematic and subject-specific compatibility of the two groups is required from the Collaborative Research Centre in question. Furthermore, the CRC’s host university must also apply for the integration of the Emmy Noether independent junior research group into the CRC.
