An important aspect of the DFG’s equal opportunities policy is the integration of all persons involved in its advisory and decision-making processes. Therefore, the DFG aims to advance its efforts for improving equal opportunities in cooperation with those scientists and academics who serve on an honorary basis.
For this reason, information has been compiled here for the following groups of people:
- Reviewers
- Review board members
- Members of the Senate, Joint Committee and other committees
- Liaison officers
- Ombudspeople
Reviewers
Information on equal opportunities and the review process can be found in the "Guidelines for the Review Process" under section IV. “Diversity and Equal Opportunities in German Research".
In December 2007 the DFG’s Executive Committee established a commission of experts to develop research-oriented standards on gender equality. The proposed standards were discussed by the DFG’s General Assembly on 2 July 2008, where the majority of the member institutions spoke in favour of the draft, voluntarily committing themselves to implementing the standards. The DFG provides advice and support to the member institutions.
Members of the Senate, Joint Committee, other committees, and review boards, as well as liaison officers, are informed of the DFG’s equal opportunities measures.
