International Partners and Agreements
In order to carry out its activities in the interest of research, the DFG maintains partnerships and relations with a large number of partner organisations on all continents. In many countries around the world, formal agreements continue to be a necessary prerequisite for cooperation in the field of science and research.
Bilateral agreements generally govern the exchange of science or research-related information and publications, the exchange of researchers (also for the purpose of preparing joint projects), the organisation of conferences and joint funding for cooperative projects.
Researchers interested in the opportunities for cooperation within the scope of these agreements should first contact the appropriate organisation in their (home) country for further details. Even if no such agreement exists with the country in question, support can still be provided as long as the necessary complementary funding is made available by a national research funding organisation.
