The Institute for Research Information and Quality Assurance (iFQ)

The Institute for Research Information and Quality Assurance (iFQ) is an auxiliary organisation that aims to improve the information available on the framework conditions for performing both DFG-funded research and research in Germany in general, as well as on the execution of such research and its results. The iFQ's work encompasses the fields of “Research Monitoring and Quality Assurance”, “Analysis of Scientific Systems”, “Research Information”, and “Young Researchers and Careers”, and is characterised by a combination of service and research activities. The iFQ’s remit also includes training young researchers.

The iFQ began its work in the autumn of 2005 and successfully passed its evaluation in 2009.

Information on the iFQ projects currently in progress is provided on the following website:

Since September 2009, the iFQ has been collaborating with the DFG to carry out surveys of doctoral researchers in DFG-funded Research Training Groups and Collaborative Research Centres for its “ProFile” project.
