Committee on Scientific Library Services and Information Systems
The Committee on Scientific Library Services and Information Systems is responsible for advising the DFG on all projects and activities relating to the development and support of scientific library services and information systems in Germany. In order to be able to plan, review and monitor the success of projects, the committee has established four standing subcommittees: "Nationwide Library Services", "Electronic Publications", "Information Management" and "Indexing and Digitisation".
The committee is currently made up of five researchers and nine representatives from scientific information facilities (six of whom are from libraries). The committee should include one international member. The committee is appointed by the Joint Committee for a two-year term and convenes twice a year, in spring and autumn. The Scientific Library Services and Information Systems Division is responsible for managing the committee.
