The DFG’s cooperation with liaison scientists in Brazil began in November 2006.
Professor Helmut Galle from the Universidade de São Paulo (University of Sao Paulo, USP) is responsible for Southern Brazil. He is the Head of German in the Department of Modern Languages at the USP, where he conducts research and teaches.
Professor José Carlos de Araújo from the Universidade Federal do Ceará (Federal University of Ceará, UFC) in Fortaleza is the DFG’s liaison scientist for Northern Brazil. He is a hydro engineer, conducting research and teaching at the Department of Agricultural Engineering at the UFC.
