Research in Germany at the the XXIV International Materials Research Congress

(18.08.15) The "Research in Germany" initiative will participate at the XXIV International Materials Research Congress, to be held in Cancun, Mexico. With an interdisciplinary programme, the meeting provides an interactive forum to discuss the advances in synthesis, characterization, properties, processing, applications, basic research trends, corrosion prevention, and more, all related to the area of materials science and engineering.

Prof. Dr. Horst Hahn, Executive Director and Research Unit Chair of Nanostructured Materials of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), will be keynote speaker in the symposium “Micro and Nanomechanical Testing of Materials”.

Furthermore, upon invitation of the Research in Germany initiative, Prof. Dr. Horst Hahn and representatives of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation will give an overview of the German research landscape and first-hand information on career and funding opportunities in Germany.

  • July 17th, from 9 AM to 1 PM (Terraza Tulum) – “Research in Germany” booth: representatives of the DAAD and Alexander von Humboldt Foundation will offer individual consultations about scholarships, fellowships, research stays and collaborative research programs.
  • July 18th, from 2:15 to 3:45 PM (Restaurant Gustino) – Lunch session “Research in Germany – Fellowships, Exchange and Collaboration Programs”: representatives of the DAAD, DFG, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, as well as Prof. Dr.Horst Hahn, will inform participants about funding programs and the German research landscape.
