DFG Opens New Office in Tokyo
The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) opened an office in Japan in April 2009. The Japanese office is the DFG’s fifth foreign representative office. The office is located in the German Cultural Centre in Tokyo, where the DFG is the third German research funding organisation, alongside the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Fraunhofer Society.
The DFG’s new Japanese office was opened by the President of the DFG, Professor Matthias Kleiner, at an opening ceremony on 15 April in Tokyo, during the “Promoting Young Researchers” symposium.
