(13.05.22) The German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, have recently announced their new open funding programme for
Indo-German International Research Training Groups (IRTG).

In order to celebrate the launch of this new programme and to inform the research communities in India and Germany about relevant details, DST and DFG hosted an online launch event on Tuesday, 31 May 2022.

The event was open to all interested persons, particularly potential future applicants and representatives of universities’ international offices. Around 150 participants joined the online info-session. After an introduction into the respective funding agencies, Dr. Martin Roatsch presented the programme International Research Training Groups. Prof. Armido Studer, Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Münster, Germany, offered first-hand insights into a running Japanese-German IRTG, followed by a lively Q & A session with the audience.
