Indo-German Symposium on ‘Supramolecular and Bioactive Compounds: Theory, Design and Regulation’ at Khajuraho

(20.12.16) An Indo-German Symposium on ‘Supramolecular and Bioactive Compounds: Theory, Design and Regulation’ co-funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and Indian National Science Academy (INSA) was organized from 10-13 November 2016 in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh. DFG funded this workshop under their ‘Initiation of International Cooperation programme’ between Prof. Dr. Josef Wachtveitl, Goethe University Frankfurt and Prof. Dr. Jitendra K. Bera, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. Nearly 13 German and 28 Indian Scientists from the most reputed universities and Institutes of both the countries participated in the symposium.
This Indo-German symposium encompassing 26 lectures focused on various aspects of chemistry, served as a platform for scientists from both countries to meet and exchange ideas, build networks and explore possibilities of long term collaboration. On the invitation of Prof. Bera, Dr. Vaibhav Agarwal, represented the DFG India office at the symposium and gave a presentation showcasing the German research landscape and spoke about the various collaborative opportunities through DFG funding schemes to the scientists.
