24 - 27 February 2010 - International Conference and Humboldt Kolleg, Lucknow
Dr Torsten Fischer along with three colleagues from the India Office of the German Research Foundation participated in the International Conference and Humboldt Kolleg in Lucknow from 24-27 February 2010. The thematic focus of the Kolleg was ‘Frontiers of Environmental & Health Sciences Useful to Mankind: A Multidisciplinary Approach’. The Humboldt Kolleg was jointly organised by the Humboldt Academy Lucknow and the University of Lucknow in association with the Humboldt Academy Varanasi. During the information session, Dr Torsten Fischer, Director of the DFG India Office, held a presentation on funding possibilities through DFG.
Whilst in Lucknow, the DFG team took the opportunity to visit two reputed research institutions: the Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR) and the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI). DFG presentations at both the institutes were received with great interest. The DFG team also visited laboratories and interacted with former Humboldt, DAAD and Max Planck fellows.
