DFG President, Professor Dr.-Ing. Matthias Kleiner, visits India
Professor Dr.-Ing. Matthias Kleiner visited India for two days from 6 to 7 December 2009 during which he met the newly appointed German Ambassador to India H.E. Mr. Thomas Matussek and also took part at the concluding celebrations of the Platinum Jubilee of the DFG partner organization, the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) in Kolkata. In the course of events he took part in a symposium entitled “Role of International Scientific Organisations and Programmes in the Emerging Global Scenario” and held a presentation on “Development of Science and the Humanities through Research Funding”. Other celebrities from science and politics were also present at the ceremony including Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, the President of India.
