In the on-going initiative of the Lindau Alumni to take science to the schools, the Delhi Alumni conducted another science presentation on Teacher’s Day, September 05, 2009.
The presentation was given at Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Chand Nagar for the pupils of IXth standard. Dr. Amarjeet Kaur, Reader at the Physics & Astro Physics Department of Delhi University and Ms. Jyoti Aneja, an undergraduate student at Hansraj College gave the presentation.
Dr. Kaur, who has been holding this presentation since 2007, was speaking to the pupils about future career options in science. Since Ms. Jyoti Aneja is still an undergraduate student her connection with the students was very strong and after the presentation the pupils thronged to her with their questions.
After the presentation, there was an interaction with the principal and teachers of the school who re-iterated the need for such presentations, especially for girls.
