Subject-Specific Analyses in the Engineering Sciences
The thematic priorities set by German HEIs in the engineering sciences are illuminated here using information on third-party funding by the DFG (in three subject areas and ten research fields), the federal government (in six funding area) and the EU (in four funding areas) as well as the federal gvernment’s programmes IGF and PRO INNO, which are supervised by the AiF. Together with ranking lists of HEIs, the thematic funding profiles that emerge from the distribution of DFG awards are also presented here in the form of a subject map.

Reviewers and members of DFG Review Boards
The information on the number of DFG reviewers and Review Board members reported here gives some indication of the scientific expertise of the HEIs in this scientific discipline.
International appeal
The international appeal of German HEIs is reflected by the number of visiting researchers who are funded by the ERC, the DAAD and the AvH.
