DFG eröffnet Büro in Tokio
Im April 2009 hat die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) ein Büro in Japan eröffnet. Das Japanbüro ist die fünfte Auslandsrepräsentanz der DFG. Das Büro ist im Deutschen Kulturzentrum in Tokyo angesiedelt, in das nun neben dem Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienst und der Fraunhofer Gesellschaft eine weitere deutsche wissenschaftliche Förderorganisation ansässig ist.
Das neue DFG-Büro Japan wurde von dem Präsidenten der DFG, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Kleiner, am 15. April in Tokyo im Rahmen des Symposiums „Promoting Young Researchers“ feierlich eröffnet, zu Details siehe:

Das Japan-Büro der DFG ist eröffnet. An der feierlichen Auftaktzeremonie nahmen unter anderem teil: DFG-Präsident Professor Matthias Kleiner (zweiter von rechts), die Präsidenten der DFG-Partnerorganisationen Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) und Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), Professor Motoyuki Ono (3.v.r.) und Professor Koichi Kitazawa (rechts), der ehemalige Deutsche Botschafter Hans Joachim Daerr (4.v.r.), DFG-Vizepräsident Professor Konrad Samwer (2.v.l.) sowie der Physiker und Nobelpreisträger Professor Makoto Kobayashi (3.v.l.). Geleitet wird das im Deutschen Kulturzentrum ansässige Büro von Dr. Iris Wieczorek (1.v.l.)
